Current Transformer Explosion Prevention Measures

Jul 17, 2023|

(1) Check whether the lead joints in the primary terminals of the transformer are in good contact
The lead wire joints of the primary terminals of the current transformer should be in good contact, and the contact area should be kept sufficient to prevent the current transformer from overheating faults. Attention should be paid to equipotential connection between the L2 terminal and the expander cover to prevent potential suspension. In addition, anti-rotation measures should be taken for the crucible leading out of the secondary wire to prevent the internal lead wire from being twisted due to external operation.
(2) If the test value is abnormal, the cause should be identified
When the dielectric loss factor tg value measured before commissioning and during operation is abnormal, it should be comprehensively analyzed that tgδ and temperature change significantly or the test voltage rises from 10kv to Um/root 3, and when the tgδ increment exceeds ±0.3%, it should exit the operation . When the results of chromatographic analysis are abnormal, follow-up analysis should be conducted to examine its growth trend. If the data increases rapidly, attention should be paid. Nip accidents in the bud.
(3) Keeping the busbar differential protection in normal operation
In order to avoid a breakdown accident at the bottom of the capacitor core of the current transformer and expand the scope of the accident, attention should be paid to the installation direction of the primary terminal L1 and L2 and the polarity connection of the secondary winding to ensure the normal operation of the bus differential protection run
(4) Check the short-circuit current
According to the development of the power grid, pay attention to check and calculate the short-circuit current at the location where the current transformer is located, and arrange replacement in time when it exceeds the dynamic and thermal stable current value on the nameplate of the transformer.
(5) JPL carries out online monitoring and infrared temperature measurement
At present, the on-line monitoring items carried out by current transformers mainly include: measuring the capacitance and dielectric loss factor tgδ of the main insulation, and measuring the insulation resistance and dielectric loss factor tgδ of the last insulation. Test experience shows that it is effective for detecting insulation defects. For infrared temperature measurement, some units have been carried out, and the existing test results show that it is effective for detecting the looseness of the internal joints of the current transformer.
Yes, but experience is still needed.
