Measures to reduce the secondary load of the current transformer need to be noted

Nov 06, 2024|

1. Ensure the integrity and correctness of the secondary circuit, avoid the secondary circuit being open, the connection point should be firm and in good contact, and measure the resistance of the secondary circuit to ensure that it is within the allowable range.
2. Consider the matching and compatibility of the equipment. After reducing the secondary load, the measuring instrument and protection device should be able to work normally and match the output characteristics of the current transformer. Also consider the compatibility with other equipment (such as relays, transmitters, etc.).
3. Pay attention to the impact of load changes, understand the load fluctuations of the current transformer in actual operation, and ensure that the current transformer can still meet the measurement and protection requirements within the load fluctuation range. At the same time, consider the type of load and its impact on the performance of the current transformer.
4. Take necessary safety measures, such as when operating the secondary circuit of the current transformer, ensure the safety of the operator, take insulation measures, wear insulating gloves, use insulating tools, etc. The secondary side must have reliable grounding protection, and the grounding resistance must meet the requirements.
5. After verification and testing, reducing the secondary load, the current transformer needs to be error-checked to ensure that its measurement accuracy meets the requirements. Other performance tests of the current transformer are also required, such as insulation performance test, dynamic stability and thermal stability performance test, etc.
