1. Aging

2. Overload operation

If the current transformer is overloaded for a long time, the error will increase and the meter indication will be incorrect. In addition, due to the increase of the primary and secondary currents, the iron core and winding of the current transformer will be overheated, which will aggravate its insulation aging progress, resulting in a decrease in insulation performance, and it is easy to burn out during the operation of the current transformer.

 

3. The effect of high pressure

Due to the open circuit fault of the secondary circuit of the current transformer, a high voltage is generated. Under the action of the high voltage, the current transformer will run for a long time and burn out.

 

4. The contact resistance is too large

Due to the excessive oxidation of the contact surface of the aluminum bar connected to the current transformer at one time, the contact resistance is too large. Under the action of high current, the surface temperature of the current transformer shell will rise, and the internal insulation will be heated and smelly. In severe cases, the power transformer will be damaged. Smoked and burned.

 

Therefore, when the current transformer has the following faults, it should be powered off to ensure the safety of the power system: there is a discharge sound inside the current transformer or there is spark discharge between the lead shells; the temperature exceeds the allowable value and overheating causes smoke or emits Odor; the ceramic part of the current transformer is seriously damaged, which affects the creeping distance and other fault phenomena. If the current transformer is allowed to run with a fault for a long time, it is likely to cause the current transformer to burn out, which will cause more serious damage to the line, and even An explosion accident will occur, threatening life.
