How the Zero Sequence Current Transformer is used in combination

Mar 07, 2022|

The Zero Sequence Current Transformer looks like two circular iron boxes in appearance, but it is also a component of the diesel generator. Its structure is similar to that of an ordinary through-core current transformer, except that its primary winding is the third part of the protected system. The conductor of each phase, the secondary winding reflects the zero-sequence current of the primary system.

The Zero Sequence Current Transformer should be installed on the bottom plate of the switchgear and should be fixed by a reliable bracket. However, some manufacturers or construction units install the Zero Sequence Current Transformer> current transformer on the bracket under the switchgear bottom plate, and some even bundle the Zero Sequence Current Transformer> current transformer on the cable, which violates the total sealing of the switch cabinet. In principle, it is neither safe, nor dust-proof, nor small animals, leaving many hidden dangers.

After the cable terminal head passes through the external Zero Sequence Current Transformer> current transformer, the relative position of the metal shielded ground wire of the cable and the external Zero Sequence Current Transformer> current transformer is incorrect.

Zero Sequence Current Transformer>current transformer secondary connection piece was opened during cable construction, and was not restored in time after the work was completed, resulting in open circuit of current transformer>current transformer secondary coil.

The grounding end of the ground wire of the metal sheath of the cable is not welded with terminals, nor is it connected to the grounding copper bar set in the switch cabinet, but is casually lapped on the bolts of the switch cabinet.
