How to choose the right Power Current Transformer

Sep 20, 2021|

1. Accuracy

In most applications, measurement accuracy has a direct impact on the efficiency of the entire system. The accuracy of the power calculation obviously depends on the accuracy of the Power Current Transformer.

2, linearity

The linearity of the Power Current Transformer refers to the stability of its characteristics in the entire operating mode range. The high linearity of analog sensing components is essential for accurate measurement of a large range of primary currents, especially in the case of low current values.

3, drift

The drift of the Power Current Transformer is related to the duration of the reading timeout that has nothing to do with the initial system calibration. Some changes in its characteristics may be caused by the humidity and temperature of the surrounding environment or the aging of the components.

4, integration

Since it is self-powered, the Power Current Transformer does not require any other wiring except for the two output wires connected to the main power monitor device.

5, phase shift

The accuracy of the actual effective power or energy calculation is not only related to the accuracy and linearity of the AC current and voltage transformers, but also to the phase shift that may occur between the two related value measurements.

6. Price

The price of Power Current Transformer and the cost of installation and maintenance should be considered.
