How to deal with the secondary open circuit fault of Electrical Current Transformer
Oct 02, 2021| 1. If the Electrical Current Transformer is found to be open for the second time, you should first distinguish which group of current circuits the fault belongs to, the difference of the open circuit, and whether it affects the protection, report the dispatch, and remove the protection that may malfunction.
2. Reduce the primary load current as much as possible. If the Electrical Current Transformer is severely damaged, the load should be transferred, and the power failure should be checked and dealt with. If the state-owned bypass is used, the bypass can be used to ensure the power supply.
2. Try to short-circuit the Electrical Current Transformer secondary on the nearby test terminal, and then check and deal with the open circuit point. When short-circuiting, use short-circuit special short-circuit wiring. The short-circuit should be proper and reliable. It is forbidden to use fuse or general wire winding. It needs to be carried out according to the drawings.
3. Pay attention to the phenomenon during short circuit. If there is spark during short circuit, the short circuit is effective. The fault point is in the circuit below the short contact point. You can find further. If there is no spark during short circuit, the short circuit may be invalid. The fault point may be in the circuit before the short-circuit point, and the short-circuit point can be changed point by point to narrow the range to clarify the open circuit point.
5. Within the scope of the fault, check the terminals and components that are prone to faults, and check the parts of the circuit that have been touched during operation. For the faults found out, the ones that can be handled by themselves can be dealt with immediately, and then put into the withdrawn protection. If the open circuit point is on the terminal of the transformer body, the power should be cut off. If it is a fault that cannot be handled by itself or cannot be found out by itself, it should be reported to the superior and professional maintenance personnel will be sent for inspection and handling. At this time, the Electrical Current Transformer should be short-circuited twice, or the load should be transferred, and the power failure should be handled.
