Matters needing attention during operation of miniature current transformer
May 05, 2021| The secondary side of the Electrical Current Transformer must not be open during operation. Once the secondary side is open, it will be burned due to excessive iron loss and high temperature, or the voltage of the secondary winding will rise and the insulation will break down, resulting in the risk of high-voltage electric shock. Therefore, when changing appearances, such as exchanging ammeters, active power meters, and reactive power meters, the current loop should be short-circuited before the metering appearance is exchanged. After the meter is adjusted, connect it to the secondary circuit first, then remove the short wiring and check whether the meter is normal. If sparks are found when the short wiring is removed, the Electrical Current Transformer has been opened at this moment, and the short circuit should be re-shorted immediately. Only when it is found that there is no open circuit in the meter circuit, can the short wiring be removed again. When removing the short circuit of the Electrical Current Transformer, you should stand on the insulating pad, and consider disabling the protection device of the Electrical Current Transformer circuit. After the operation is completed, the protection device can be put into operation.
When the insulation resistance of the secondary side coil of the Electrical Current Transformer is less than 10-20 megohms, it must be dried to restore the insulation before it can be used.
One end of the secondary side of the Electrical Current Transformer, the shell must be reliably grounded.
If the Electrical Current Transformer has a buzzing noise, check whether the internal iron core is loose, and the iron core bolts can be tightened.
