Precautions during operation of Miniature Current Transformer
Jan 26, 2022| In the power supply line, the current and voltage vary greatly from a few amperes to tens of thousands of amperes. In order to facilitate the secondary surface measurement needs to be converted into a more consistent current, the voltage on other lines is relatively high, such as direct measurement is very risky. Electrical Current Transformer plays the role of current conversion and electrical isolation. The matters needing attention in the operation of Electrical Current Transformer are:
The secondary side of the Electrical Current Transformer must not be opened during operation. Once the secondary side is opened, the iron loss will be too large, the temperature will be too high and it will be burnt, or the voltage of the secondary winding will rise and the insulation will be broken down, resulting in the risk of high-voltage electric shock. Therefore, when exchanging surfaces, such as exchanging ammeters, active meters, reactive meters, etc., the current loop should be short-circuited first, and then the metering surfaces should be exchanged. After the meter is adjusted, first connect it to the secondary circuit, then remove the short-circuit and check whether the meter is normal. If a spark is found when removing the short circuit, the Electrical Current Transformer has opened, and it should be re-shorted immediately, and the short circuit can be removed only when it is confirmed that the circuit of the meter is not open. When removing the Electrical Current Transformer short circuit, you should stand on the insulating pad, and consider deactivating the protective device of the Electrical Current Transformer circuit. After the operation is completed, the protective device can be put into operation.
When the insulation resistance of the secondary coil of the Electrical Current Transformer is lower than 10~20 megohms, it must be dried to restore the insulation before use.
At one end of the secondary side of the Electrical Current Transformer, the shell must be grounded reliably.
If there is a buzzing sound in the Electrical Current Transformer, check whether the inner iron core is loose, and tighten the iron core bolts.
