Precautions for Use of Electrical Current Transformer
Jun 03, 2021| (1) The polarity connection must be correct. Electrical Current Transformers are generally marked by minus polarity. If the polarity is not connected correctly, it will affect the measurement, and even when there are multiple Electrical Current Transformers in parallel on the same line, all of them will cause a short circuit accident.
(2) The secondary circuit should have a protective grounding point and be connected reliably. In order to prevent the high voltage from entering the low voltage side after the insulation breakdown between the primary and secondary windings and endangering the safety of people and instruments, the secondary side of the Electrical Current Transformer should be equipped with a protective grounding point. Only one grounding point is allowed, and it will generally be close to the Electrical Current. The box terminal of Transformer is grounded.
(3) The secondary winding is not allowed to open circuit during operation. Otherwise it will lead to the following serious consequences: high voltage on the secondary side, endangering the safety of people and instruments; overheating, may burn out the windings; increase the measurement error.
(4) The secondary circuit of the Electrical Current Transformer used for electric energy measurement should not be connected to relay protection devices and automatic devices to prevent mutual influence.
