Reasons for six faults of miniature current transformers
Apr 30, 2022| 1. When it is found that the current transformer has a secondary disconnection, it is necessary to distinguish the fault occurrence point and the different phases of the switch, so as to judge whether the entire protection will be affected, report and dispatch the situation, and directly eliminate the possible misoperation;
2. The primary load current can be reduced as much as possible. If the ct is seriously damaged, the load should be transferred, and the power should be cut off for processing and inspection.
3. Short circuit twice at the nearest test terminal, check the open circuit point, and confirm that the short circuit is correct;
4. If a spark occurs during the short circuit, it means that the short circuit is effective, and it also means that the fault point is at the short circuit of the contact;
5. On the contrary, if there is no spark during the short circuit, it means that the short circuit has no effect, and the fault point should not be in the circuit;
6. Change the CT's secondary short-circuit operation to power-off check. When turning on or off the CT again, use insulating tools and wear gloves with good insulating effect.
