What to do if the Electrical Current Transformer gets damp
Oct 22, 2021| (1) Oven drying method. The specific operating procedures of the oven drying method are as follows:
1. First remove the secondary winding from the Electrical Current Transformer, and mark the secondary winding, mark the Electrical Current Transformer factory number, accuracy grade, polarity, and inner and outer windings.
2. Place the secondary winding on a wooden rack in the oven for drying. Temperature control should not exceed 80°C, generally maintained at 75, heating and cooling should be slow.
3. Measure the winding insulation resistance every 1h. To facilitate the measurement, the taps of the Electrical Current Transformer windings can be wired outside the oven. When the insulation resistance rises to 100MQ122k_ and remains stable, the drying can be stopped.
(2) Direct current drying method.
The direct current drying method uses the heat generated by the copper loss when the secondary winding of the Electrical Current Transformer is energized to dry the winding.
The DC power supply can be a DC welding machine, a floating charger, a battery, etc. Generally, DC welding machines are considered good.
