Electrical Current Transformer wiring principles and precautions for use
Oct 25, 2021| Wiring principle of Electrical Current Transformer
1. No open circuit is allowed. The secondary open circuit can easily lead to safety accidents, because the secondary open circuit will cause the iron core to overheat and induce high voltage.
2. There must be a little grounding. When the Electrical Current Transformer is measured as high voltage, if there is one point of grounding, high voltage can be introduced into the earth, but pay attention to two points of grounding to avoid shunting.
3. The protection level and measurement level of Electrical Current Transformer can not be connected wrongly. Once the two are connected incorrectly, it may lead to insensitive relay protection and inaccurate energy measurement.
4. The unused windings need to be short-circuited to avoid affecting the measurement accuracy. However, the Electrical Current Transformer has multiple taps, and the unused taps must not be short-circuited.
Precautions for Use of Electrical Current Transformer
1. Generally speaking, the electrical current transformer connection is connected according to the minus polarity, so the polarity connection must be correct. Once the connection is wrong, the measurement will be inaccurate and even short-circuited.
2. Electrical Current Transformer company should set a protective grounding point in order to prevent the secondary winding from causing high-voltage electricity to flee into the low-voltage side, causing damage to the instrument and causing personal injury.
3. For transformers that use electric energy measurement, if the secondary circuit is implemented, no automatic device is required.
