Operational Requirements for Electrical Current Transformer
Feb 03, 2022| First of all, the product cannot be operated under the condition of exceeding the rated capacity for a long time. The long-term overload will cause the passing current to exceed the rated current of the product, resulting in an increase in the error and a decrease in the accuracy of the meter indication. Sometimes, it may even cause the core and winding temperature to be too high, causing insulation aging, and even damage to the product.
Secondly, during the operation of the product, it should be ensured that its secondary side circuit is in a closed state. If the secondary winding is not needed, it should be short-circuited, and the secondary circuit can only have one grounding point.
Third, in actual use, the side of the secondary coil and the iron core should be grounded at the same time. The grounding of the CT secondary side should be grounded. In order to avoid the breakdown between the primary winding and the secondary winding due to insulation faults, the secondary winding needs to be connected in series with a high voltage. When the secondary circuit is switched, the protection device should be stopped, and the circuit should not be opened during operation.
Fourth, in the circuit system, the protection and the instrument have used the same group of products. When the meter circuit is working, it should be noted that the terminals of the meter itself are short-circuited, not open circuit, nor short-circuit the protection circuit. If there is high frequency protection and zero sequence protection, it should be stopped before short circuit.
