The difference between Rogowski coil and ordinary coil

Mar 01, 2024|

The main difference between Roche coils and ordinary coils is their construction and purpose.
A common coil is a basic inductive component consisting of wire wound around a magnetic material. Its main function is to generate a magnetic field or induced voltage. Ordinary coils are commonly used in inductors, transformers, electromagnetic relays, etc. in electronic equipment.
The Rogowski coil is a special coil that uses a special structure to enhance its inductive performance. Rogowski coils usually consist of two or more windings, one of which is called a Rogowski winding and the other is called a compensation winding. The two windings are coupled to each other through a special connection to increase the induced voltage and sensitivity of the coil. Rogowski coils are often used in precision measuring instruments in physics laboratories, such as electromagnetic flowmeters, magnetometers, etc.
Rogowski coils have higher induced voltage and sensitivity than ordinary coils, and are suitable for occasions requiring high-precision measurement. Ordinary coils are more common and widely used in various electronic devices.
