What is the cause of the old burning of the Power Current Transformer

May 15, 2021|

The first reason is that the secondary side of the Power Current Transformer is caused by an open circuit due to the weak wiring

In the process of using the Power Current Transformer, if the secondary side is open due to disconnection of the wiring, the current will be equal to zero and the impedance will be infinite. We know that the Power Current Transformer is actually a step-up transformer. A very high electromotive force is generated on the secondary coil, sometimes reaching a voltage of several thousand volts, which will make the magnetic flux density of the Power Current Transformer become very large, causing serious saturation of the iron core, which will cause The iron core is overheated and the Power Current Transformer is burned out, which is one of the common causes of burning of the Power Current Transformer.

The second reason is caused by too long overload running time

If the Power Current Transformer is overloaded for a long time, it will cause the coil to heat up. If it takes a long time, it will cause the Power Current Transformer to burn due to the overheating of the coil.

The third reason is-burnout caused by increased contact resistance on the secondary side

If the conductive material connected to the Power Current Transformer does not meet the requirements during use, it will cause the contact resistance of the wiring to be too large and generate heat. When the heat reaches a certain temperature, the Power Current Transformer will also be burned.
