The SCT Series of current sensor ICs provideseconomical andprecise solutions for ACor DCcurrentsensing.Typical applications include motor control, load detection andmanagement, power supply and DC-to-DC converter control,inverter control, and overcurrent fault detection. The device consists of a precision,low-offset linear Hallcircuit with a copper conduction path located near the die.Applied current flowing through this copper conductionpath generates a magnetic field that is concentrated by a lowmagnetic hysteresis core, then converted by the Hall IC into aproportional voltage. Device accuracy is optimized throughtheclose proximity of the magnetic signal to the Hall transducer.A precise,proportional output voltage is provided by thelow-offset,chopper-stabilized BiCMOS Hall IC, which isprogrammed for accuracy at the factory. Proprietary digitaltemperature compensation technology greatly improves theIC accuracy and temperature stability without influencing thehigh-bandwidth operation of the analog output.
